Did I tell you about the time I published my first eBook on Amazon? No? Well, it was a romance, a spicy romance.

Aw, screw it! Let’s be honest with ourselves. It was paranormal erotica. Go on, snicker all you want! I’m snickering along with you.

The most surprising thing about this odd path in my writing journey was how easy it was to get it published. I admit it was difficult at first. I had no idea what I was doing.

Being stuck at home for about three months during the spring of 2020 had me at a crossroads…

On August 18, 1968, Emil Barnea saw something strange in the sky.

The military technician was out on a casual stroll with his girlfriend and two friends at the Hoia Baciu forest. He looked above and spotted something extraordinary: a UFO. Barnea took a picture and immediately reported it to the authorities. Strangely enough, the authorities rejected his evidence, calling his UFO sighting simply a weather balloon. If it was a weather balloon, where did it landed?

Barnea wasn’t the only man who captured unnatural spectacles in Romania’s Hoia Baciu forest. Alexandru Sift captured years of evidence only for it…

I don’t know about you, but I love Gen Z. I don’t understand where all the hate comes from.

Generation Z are people born between 1997 (some say 1995) to 2012. Statistics reported they make up 20.5% of the US population. Older generations bicker about them being on the phone all day and not wanting to work a traditional job. It makes me want to roll my eyes so hard I can see my brain. How are these haters going to complain about Gen Z yet expect them to take care of them when they’re ancient and immobile? C’mon now!

If any writer can do the impossible, it would be cozy mystery writer Amanda M. Lee. She dabbled into creative writing when she was a kid. Then, thinking full-time writing wouldn’t pay the bills, she became a reporter. Eventually, Lee took the leap and became a full-time author anyway, producing at least one book a month.

How Does She Write So Fast?

One key to Lee’s writing success is her fast-writing skills. Lee discussed in an interview with the Self-Publishing Formula she writes 9,000 words a day. You read that right. Not 900 words, 9,000! …

Don’t you think you can write a short story every day? It’s possible. Imagine how much you’ll be able to publish. Fun, isn’t it?

Fahrenheit 451 author Ray Bradbury offered aspiring writers to write a short story per week:

“The best hygiene for beginning writers or intermediate writers is to write a hell of a lot of short stories. If you write one short story a week — it doesn’t matter what the quality is to start, but at least you’re practicing, and, at the end of the year you have 52 short stories, and I defy you to write…

“We are Overwatch” (Credit: Play Overwatch via YouTube)

As soon as I heard Jeff Kaplan (aka Papa Jeff) was leaving Blizzard, I thought it was a joke…until it wasn’t.

Wasn’t 2021 supposed to be the year of great beginnings?

Okay, wow. There’s even an official statement from Jeff on the Play Overwatch blog:

i am leaving Blizzard Entertainment after 19 amazing years.

it was truly the honor of a lifetime to have the opportunity to create worlds and heroes for such a passionate audience. …

You want to be successful. Who doesn’t?

Everybody wants to make their dreams come true, whether it’s the standard American picket-fence neighborhood type of success or the chill digital nomad lifestyle. Everybody’s view of success is different.

How do we even become more successful than we have in our past? Think about the universe for a second.

The universe continuously expands, creating new planets, stars, and even black holes. You can be the same. No, I’m not telling you to shed your physical form and become one with space.

To be successful, you must endlessly grow as the universe does…

Sick of getting $10 a month from Medium? I feel you. I want to make at least $3,000 a month and finally buy an annual premier Disney season pass.

There’s something I’ve noticed all too well with the biggest writers on this platform. Plus, famous people in general. Take the Kardashians for instance.

All Eyes on the Kardashians

No matter if you love them or hate them, the Kardashians are always getting money. Kylie Jenner can film herself twerking and coughing at the same time on Instagram and still make millions from it. How is this possible?

Is it the Kardashians’ built-up legacy behind all…

How did I end up writing a story over 38,000 words long? My original plan was to write a short story somewhere between 1,000 to 2,500 words. What I wrote instead was basically a book!

I used to believe I didn’t have enough “oomph” yet to write a full-length book.

A 3,000-word short story? Sure.

A 90-paged screenplay? Heck yeah!

A straight novella or novel? No way!

Now, I can’t say I can’t write books anymore. I can do it. It’s all about focus and determination.

It Started with Hunter x Hunter

Earlier this spring, my little sister introduced me to an anime called Hunter x…

James Arruda Henry has lived a long life. He managed to live so long with a literary education nowhere beyond the third grade. When Henry turned 98 years old, he published In a Fisherman’s Language (2011), a story about his former life as a humble fisherman.

For six years, he enhanced his reading and writing skills to compose his first book. While reading is an essential factor in his accomplishment, how much has writing contributed to Henry’s development?

Many studies have reported writing exercises the mind like consistent bodybuilding strengthens muscles. …
