Medium is an Asset Worth Keeping

Medium writers breathe words onto a computer screen, and it becomes a $500 article. Meanwhile, other writers grind hours into their Medium blog and only receive $15 for all their effort. Is Medium an asset worth keeping?

I’m on and off when it comes to Medium. Some months I post more than others. There was a time I had an extended, drawn-out plan to make four figures a month on Medium. It never happened, and I’m absolutely cool with it. No need to freak out.

I remember the first time I made $20 one month from Medium. I was ecstatic. It was the moment I knew my writing could take me somewhere.

The Thing About Assets & Liabilities

Whether you make $5,000 or $5 a month or Medium, it’s still an asset worth keeping. Rich Dad, Poor Dad, author Robert Kiyosaki mentioned two types of products people own: assets and liabilities. Dividend stocks, your published books, and monetized blogs are assets. They bring money into your pocket. Meanwhile, liabilities take them away.

I’m not saying your groceries are liabilities. You need food (lol)! However, you may want to steer away from expensive cars and 20-bedroom mansions. Once you have enough assets, you can have them pay your liabilities for you.
